She doesn't use strings anymore past this? That's kinda a shame because they really compliment her

voice well.

Probably up there
I still need to hear every album post-Vespertine
which of those is the best?
(sidenote: Pluto is a fucking banging jam)

yeah Pluto goes nuts and then there's the calm finish. maybe the best vocal performance I've ever heard over an album. amazing range and power but the variety too. the scream on Pluto, some of the ways she sings Immature...

Medulla is fascinating cos it's almost entirely vocal. choirs, beatboxing, throat singing, some acapella stuff. it's weirder but 3 or 4 really great songs. the first song is one of my favourite Bjork songs. I'd say probably that. all three are worth a look though.

Yeah that build and then release on Pluto is ridiculous
That's right I remember hearing the first song on there because Patton was on it. I was disappointed that he only did backing vocals because a proper duet between the two would have been life-changing but it was still a great song

yeah not much in the way of proper duets. there's at least one with Antony Hegarty on Volta.

i wasn't even sure Patton was on that track but you're right. it's the most ridiculous CD booklet ever - black writing on a black background. great song in general but there's this build-up part where a male choir comes up in the mix, really deep voices contrasted with Bjork singing 'when in doubt, giiiiiiiiiive' over the top of it. it's not as immediate as the songs on here or Post but it rules.

There's the duet with Thom Yorke too isn't there? Although I sadly don't remember thinking much of it

Mark Bell apparently passed away last week, complications from some yet-to-be-detailed surgery.
