never fell in love with this, and still haven't, though I'd love to. king of limbs is making me think about this one differently than I have been though, which is exciting

King of Limbs made me appreciate In Rainbows way more. And I don't know why, I love The King of Limbs.

Perhaps, and I could be just talking out of my ass here, King of Limbs makes Radiohead's
"human-ness" more obvious than In Rainbows. The Cokemachineglow review of In Rainbows
points to it being an album of "friends having fun," where Radiohead almost says "fuck it, lets rock."
For me, I've come to read this as a good album that essentially lacks the "magic" of the previous
Radiohead albums. That magic, I believe, comes mostly from hooks, which KoL and IR both largely lack,
but KoL lacks them so obviously it forces its audience to listen to it without the expectation of
being immediately floored by a single track. I love KoL for that reason, and looking back on In
Rainbows with that same lack of expectation has illuminated ways the songs on it gel together to form
a more intimate album than I previously thought. Still gonna have to sit on it till I adjust my
rating, but it's an interesting phenomenon.

i think every track is amazing on this, basically. i do like that it feels more free and loose than prior radiohead albums.

i agree. this is also the only radiohead album that i really love and really enjoy listening to casually as a whole, as opposed to liking individual songs from their other records

Listened to this again recently, and just as good as I remembered. Can't say it enough, Weird Fishes and Reckoner have to be some of Radiohead's absolute best songs.

Cool, and I agree with the whole album thing. But if I had to break it down, my five favorite pieces would probs be Weird Fishes, Reckoner, All I Need, Jigsaw and Videotape.

Thanks. Tasteful picks from a tasty album. That being said, the other songs, particularly 15 Step, rule hard.
