I think it's a bit silly how the average is so low on this. Tool always gets better the more you listen to it and sit with it. Seeing them play this stuff live really hit home how great the new material is as well, especially Pneuma.

This will reach a 3.9 at max and that is fine for me. While still an exceptional record in its own right, I think it's too overambitious and repetitive during single songs. You could at least cut 5 to 10 minutes of this record and it would be much tighter. Also the interludes are pretty forgettable imho
While I give them kudos for expanding they're songwriting approach I can't help but feel that compared to their back catalogue this is more quantity over quality at times.
