Probably one of my favorite songs of all time. Definitely up there. Maynard's Voice and lyrics are beautiful.

I like em both a lot. City and Colour's new one was on the disappointing side though.
Just listened to some of that Penguin song. That was unexpected. Is a lot of the first album like that, or is that one song
an exception?
Edit: Orestes is fucking gorgeous.

@Ecnal Most of the songs with vocals (the non-Movement ones) are along those lines although maybe a bit more proggy and percussion-based, the Movements are interludes.
@Mongi I'll jam it now dude

Yea the first album is pretty raw and intense.
And well said Ecal.

I enjoy the interludes on this. I was surprised when it didn't look like there were any on Catch Without Arms.

Album Rating: 4.1
Yeah the interludes on this rule hard especially Walk in the Park
They're great on Pariah as well dredg just know how to pull em off unlike certain bands (coughKarnivoolcough)

Catch Without Arms doesn't really call for interludes imo and Pariah just tried to be El Cielo but
failed for the most part imo
And Elephant in the delta waves is amazing.

Dude I LOVE Pariah it was the perfect mix between CWA and EC for me
Orestes ruled hard btw gotta familiarise myself with that album in general

I bought this and Catch within pretty close proximity to each other, but I have only listened to this so far. I definitely want to try out motif now too. Pariah worth looking into as well?
lol, oh Karnivool...I think they were just trying too hard to be weird/different on that new one.
Totally agree on Walk in the Park. That just came on in my shuffle a bit ago. Loved it.

It's not like I can relate to that song or anything. Maynard's grief is just so hard hitting I've come close to crying when listening to that.

Pariah is so good Ecnal second only to this imo jam it hard
Leitmotif is definitely worth it as well although it's the weakest of the 4, just stay far away from Chuckles.
Yeah I wish Maynard would write emotional music all the time cause when he tries to be clever or spiritual or something it doesn't turn out that well imo he just should write from the heart

FAR AWAY. DON'T EVEN GLANCE AT IT.

Cool, I will probably end up with the first 4 lps at some point then. I don't remember what turrned me on to this band, but I am glad whatever it was did.
I also really like Blue by APC. Its another really good, somber track, like Orestes.

Yeah first 4 LPs is pretty much all you need from them although Live at the Fillmore is also a sweet addition

Favorites are Orestes, Gravity, A Stranger, and The Package. Damn TP is chilling as hell. Maynard seems to really know the concept of that album if you know what I mean.
