"Everything Is Romantic remix with Caroline Palochek and that's gonna be insane."
is it? the song is already a career highlight i think it's going to be impossible to top the original version

We are fully in "let her cook" territory, so even if it doesn't clear the original, I'm sure it's gonna be great. Her and Caroline are in their bag

Caroline sucks now and even if we would be so lucky as to have it not be another one of these trend “remixes” where it’s literally just the exact same song with a verse from a featured artist added in she’ll still probably just make it worse. It doesn’t need to be touched; and that lorde addition to the girl so confusing also doesn’t need to exist
|

and the 360 version with Robyn and yung lean too jfc just write the songs to have features or don’t I hate this trend

Unfortunately the progressive bonus tracks/editions/remix rollouts seem to be the norm in 202x to inflate streaming numbers. I don’t see it going away any time soon, but agree album is fine as is and shoehorning features into every track will probably just detract from the experience.

Club Classics is the only song here I don’t think completely works, but it’s still pretty good. As an album, this is probably her best.

that lorde addition to the girl so confusing also doesn’t need to exist [2] don't know why people were getting so hyped after the fact, she added precisely nothing of value

Uh she added everything of value, the og song is about Lorde goddammit
Sure the others are more meaningless, but ALL remix albums are empty calorie listening anyway so who gives a fuck lemme have fun

I generally agree with the anti-remix sentiment, but I think Lorde's presence on Girl So Confusing adds a ton. Her verse is literally a response to the original song.

The Lorde verse is fucking amazing so I’m very glad it exists

“All remix albums are empty calorie listening”
We’re New Here, Africa Must Be Free Dub, Oil of Every Pearl [Remix], Love and Hate in Dub and Reanimation would like a word, and those are just off the dome. Remix albums can be good and even iconic, but unfortunately lazy is the general rule.

Remixes themselves aren't an issue, it's the low-effort slop that's shoved out to push album or single sales to game the chart. You can argue the quality of Charli's remixes, to be sure, but she's not at the level of popularity where she is doing so to prop numbers up. There is a massive difference between what she is doing and Swift, who is releasing literal voice memos.
