Colton is literally 100% spot on, and I never say that lol. I live in the Midwest so it’s not uncommon for the word to be used by people that identify with it AND bigoted old white guys that essentially use it as like a less offensive f slur.



I really do not care what you identify as, but I will respect it : )

The point is that close to no LGBTQ+ people actually take offense to the word queer, so the bigoted guys are wasting their breath trying to use it as a slur.

I’m just really advocating for allies that are dumb and sometimes say stupid shit but have their heart in the right place. Any time I use the wrong label and it comes off as offensive or whatever it is coming from a place of stupidity, not resentment.



I’m pro all of the things, it’s just that I live in a profoundly stupid part of the country so my exposure to out and proud LGBT+ people is literally just at shows.
