“You'd think Fabius would like this considering his top genre is Death Metal. You can't get more Death Metal than this album.”

Is this consistent with their most recent stuff? Really haven’t vibed with them since Coma Ecliptic. Does it sound anything like the first Colors?

"Fabius edging for weeks waiting for this thing to drop from a 4 to a 3.9 is def one of the sadder ways I've seen someone hate on an album during my time here.“

100%. I've really dug their sonic palate since Coma. This sounds immaculate

If people really care that hard about rating avgs that they have to 1 or 5 albums to boost/drop ratings, that says more about the person needing their opinion to be validated which is pretty sad

The band is too cheesy sometimes. Obviously everyone is a great player and I’d never deny that. Like I think they jam inconsistent parts together in a way that doesn’t feel coherent in spots. I think a lot of modern prog gets caught up in throwing every possible element into a song instead of trying to find dynamic ways to express a cohesive sound though. Old prog does that too I guess but the issue has only worsened.

Has anyone done the Sequel to the Prequel joke yet? If not then I want to do it...
