Man, there's been a distinct lack of Tame Impala bumps over the past few years. Hate to say I almost forgot this band existed lol

Gotta revisit all of em. Currents was always my fav

So this ninja finally revealed a new Tame Impala song (not a feature) during a DJ set, and it was really eh. I hope it is not representative of the new album. Neverender was a fucking banger last year, this song seems very feeble in comparison

He only contributed vocals on that track, don’t be too impressed

I've always felt that whenever Kevin Parker collabs with another artist, it sucks. He works better on his own and bossing his Australian bandmates around.

So Kevin is basically making a Rufus Du Sol album based on this new single.

Rufus du Sol is some of the worst/corniest dance music I've heard so that is upsetting

It’s probably good then, ppl in Miami eat Rufus du Sol up. So many strippers I knew that vibed with their stuff.

They remind me of Coldplay who I can't stand but different strokes

Ppl gotta learn to appreciate what’s there without populism influencing their view on em. Not a fan of either but they have their songs and moments

Idk I dig my fair share of pop music and can dig stuff for what it is. Both just lack anything that appeal to my tastes personally. I hope the new Tame Impala proves me wrong on release

I can say they’re pretty “inoffensive” music, and when I say that I mean they lack bite or an edge to keep them interesting. But they glide by like how a vibe does so I see their appeal.

I can say the same thing about this but lyrically it’s better.

Kevin just has a great ear for melodies and chord progressions that makes him stand above his contemporaries for me

It’s interesting for the aphex twin vibes for sure, haven’t heard an obvious Selected Ambient Works influence on a modern house track like that in a while.

I probably won’t spin more it until the album though, it’s not that interesting.
