I think this is largely tedious but like the last two quite a bit, it's possible!

I've loved every single Natty album since Alligator, so I'm living a good life.

This might not need more ROCK but it sure needs SOMETHING

Something absolutely key

My joke was a rock EP couldn’t be worse than this sadly

dropped this another notch again

I just have no desire to return to it, which at first I thought was a symptom of it coming out during a great week (I was infatuated with Rammstein, Tyler the Creator, and CRJ) - but now I'm favoring random new releases like Plastic Mermaids over it too. It's a pretty album and all, don't get me wrong, but I think it's unfortunately little more than that. I'll return to this in the near future; maybe my expectations were just too high and I need to break from it and come back with a fresh perspective later.

not a bad idea...it's still my least favorite modern national album, but I also haven't given it a fair shake in at least 2 years so might as well try again

I can sort of see how a fan of 2010s National might dig that stuff more than 00s, but I feel like if you rate Alligator high you gotta rate Boxer at least the same.

TWFM = Boxer > Alligator > HV > SWB > IAETF

Haven’t heard the first 2 yet but this is the only one that’s below a 4.5 for me. Band is amazing.

Too hard for me to choose between them but I’d give TWFM a slight edge if I absolutely had to pick.

Easily is a stretch, but Boxer [2]

Also there was an album from 2017 called Planetarium that people should check out, it involves guitarist Bryce Dessner as a main songwriter. Sufjan Stevens too, another amazing songwriter who has played piano and sang backup vocals with The National in the past.
