also this is only #77 on the all-time chart now

This grew on me more on the second listen but it's still prob my least fave mwY so far (I've heard Pale Horses, Brother Sister, and Ten Stories and prefer them in that order). Those albums, for all their verbosity, do retain an easily recognizable thematic narrative to them that counterbalances the moments where Weiss gets a little indulgent, but I'm having a hard time tracing one together here. "Michael..." has yet to click with me as a proper closer too - the mix doesn't benefit the dynamic finality it's going for imo.
but yeah, still a fine record

Idk if I can go the full 5 stars yet cuz I still way prefer Brother Sister but this is incredible
And I take back what I said earlier in this thread about Michael, easily one of the standouts

in the same way, I prefer B/S (for now), but regardless, this deserves the 5 stars

I have some artists with half their discography 5'd
I'm admittedly too liberal with the classic rating but the lesson is that it's okay to 5 more than one album by a band

If you ever get the chance to see mwY live, do not pass it up. They really bring the energy live.

I saw them live twice, both times opening for Brand New. They were arguably the better act, which should say something coming from me.

lol I've yet to meet a single person from here
the closest I came was the realization that AtomicWaste and I grew up a few towns apart, and until about a year ago lived 30 mins away from each other
apparently I also shop at the same rock shop store at a local mall as a lot of sput PA represents

all the people i've met have pretty much left the site, unfortunately
most recently, i met Maniac! and Kim (can't remember her username) at an opeth show
and as xeno said, i deleted my facebook a long time ago so i haven't spoken to anyone in forever

I agree with Sowing, people (especially on RYM) act like a 5/5 can only be reserved for like 10 albums at most like it’s a priceless gem or something
Although I’ll admit I do have too many 5’s on this site and I should clean that up lmao

not sure, i mean 5 = 'classic'. do not take that shit lightly, otherwise hi5'ing becomes pretty much meaningless.
"OHMAGHAWD BEST RECURD EVER, CREAM MA PANTS" isnt nearly enough for a 5 imo, let alone a 'classic'
