… okay I don’t like to engage in drama posting, I know these guys probably don’t want all of their personal shit out in the open, but weren’t Caro and one of the guitarists in a relationship? Is that what maybe led or at least heavily contributed to the split/hiatus/whatever?
This record just really put them on the map for a lot of folks and it was a shame to see them pack venues all tour only to call it a day right after. And I’m sure covid didn’t do them any favors if they planned on a follow up.
Regardless, love these guys. Hope we get more material or at least a good live recording of the Roadburn set. Their Audiotree session fucking rips but that’s only like half the songs.

I think that was one of the reasons and i think this record had a lot of personal stuff fot Caro. Apparently she had to be dragged off stage after some sets, so id say it was quite a few things that cut deep for her. The relationship falling apart and other personal stuff. I mean the lyrical content for this record is devastating

her lyrics are devastating but absolutely incredible and her delivery is second to fucking none. She’s really one of my favorite vocalists ever, I just wish she had more records. Even going back to Eros/Anteros and Maelstrom you could tell that she had something special going on.
And god, poor woman. Well, I’m glad shes putting her mental health first. If being on the road was really that hard on her I’d much rather the band call it. Better to leave us wanting more anyways…

Yeah her and Giles were a thing for a while then she moved to the states and was dating one of the young and in the way guys who were accused of sexual assaualt/harassment (dunno if it was him personally) So obviously living other side of the world contributed, I do know a couple of them and they never said tehy were officially broken up
and agreeed shes fking tremendous, she really elevates De Doorn - Amenra to for me

It really sucks tho how few bands make it down there, but you guys have a pretty cool indie scene from what I can tell tho. Theres a bunch of good Aussie bands that I don’t ever think I’ll get to see. It’s giving “oh your bands won’t come down here? Fuck it we’ll do it ourselves” energy.
Tropical Fuck Storm came thru and they brought the house down, one of the best shows I’ve seen this year.
