Thrill Seeker blows all of their albums out of the water

Jester is right its their only fab album
|
| |
I literally can't fathom how people call Thrill Seeker boring yet praise everything else
The breakdowns are way more creative and actually interesting, they play with odd time signatures more, melodies are tight and emotional, vox are better and The Seventh Trumpet is the best song they've written

nah

Your thoughts BETRAY you
|
| |
Eh the riffs aren't as captivating and it didn't sound as refined/professional as Constellations-on did
|
| |
I prefer the raw, unrefined sound and I love the riffs tbh
I dunno, just think they lost a lot of their personality with Messengers. Like the first minute of Your Little Suburbia Is In Ruins just gets me so pumped and none of their other albums have been able to do that. Really think people should give it a better listen.
But if not oh well I have Mort support me
|
| |
Well I mean I do prefer it over Messengers because it does have that rawness and personality you mentioned. I definitely wouldn't diss anybody who liked it since it is so individual in their discography, but I prefer their more tech-riffy side, especially in their last two albums
|
| |
I get people liking the later stuff I guess but it really just makes me want to listen to Misery Signals, think they do the style way better. Not to Diss ABR's talent as musicians because they definitely have chops (in fact I think Thrill Seeker is pretty underrated on a technical level as well), I just get bored by it.

| |
I thought the mis sigs abr comparisons died after leveler?
|
| |
Yea maybe, ABR sounds more like Unearth now but without the sweeps
Don't think the Misery Signals comparison is too out there though
|
| |
Unearth fucking sucks though. Lol only pit like them. And probably AdamT
|
| |
I'm not really a fan either, Misery Signals is the only band somewhat like this that I really enjoy. And I guess Shai Hulud could count, granddaddies of melodic metalcore or whatever you want to call these bands

thrill seeker is so structurally mediocre and musically amateurish compared to r&r and constellations dude and vox have only improved over the years
|
| |
Eh Jake has more power but old dude had more intensity. I'd prolly pick old dude tbh

ABR and Unearth sound nothing alike.
|
| |
So thankful we have all abr profs here tonight
|
| |
Lol thank you. I was like unearth and abr? Ok
|
| |
Are you kidding there are very obvious similarities
Tonally they're different but they definitely share quite a few songwriting techniques
Not to say they're clones or anything

Like what? Cause right now it seems like a stretch to say that.
