@climatic
Listen to Ghandi's link, lol, that's why I said it is kind of lame.

Yeah, Glenn Branca was a cool man, and a very obvious inspiration for Gira.

Did Gira give Branca writing credits for Oxygen?

This is my first complete Swans listen (about 3-4 times now), but now chewing Children of God also.

Just a Little Boy & Natalie Neal lull for me, although they're not bad.

Bring the Sun, to me, is mind-blowingly amazing. Touissant is pretty chill if I let myself just vibe to it.

A Little God in My Hands stands out hardcore. She Loves Me, too. FUCK. FUCK. FUCK. FECK. FECK.

I can't help but feel the lyrics to Screen Shot are deeply influenced by The Heart Sutra, but I never see this referenced anywhere.

Overall a really awesome album I want to like more than I do. It feels extremely primal, & I love the impressionistic lyrics, the grooves, and the rhythm is so HEAVY.

"Did Gira give Branca writing credits for Oxygen?"

No, and the similarities probably weren't unintentional.

Yeah rhythm section on this is sweet. I guess I could see how Just a Little Boy drags but I just find the insane vocal performance to be enough to keep me interested.

I got the chance to listen to this 2-hours straight this morning at work and this grooves. The tracks I thought were lulls were amplified when in the context of the entire album as a whole - slight detours and reprieves, etc. & @Trophycase you're right on the insane JaLB vocal performance.

Was blasting this at work, in my own studio space, but I'm not sure, I still may have scared my team a little. I guess playing it on speakers I feel a bit like a freak
