For sure, if you're not huge on all out metalcore, August Burns Red is the wrong way to go. I do feel like their punk influences shine through more in this album though. New Misery Signals is way more interesting than this album though, I wrote a sound-off that's supposed to be the shell of a review, but personal matters keep getting in the way of my writing anything these days.
BUT I DIGRESS

Lol how can anyone consider this a regression? Also that review or whatever was interesting, I hadn't picked out all of the lyrics for this yet, good on these guys for not being so god damn closed minded about other people living how they choose to. And fuck that site for basically calling that a negative.

I can not be held responsible for adding to something that spiraled off an article in a christian metalcore band thread in which I didn't even post
You can't be held responsible for something you've done (regardless of what that something might have been)? I mean... what???

Also, agree with Gyro. And what's so confusing about calling this a regression? They made some good albums, one of which pushed beyond the boundaries of the whole "modern/mainstream Metalcore" genre, and now they've regressed back to standard cliches

I'm going to have to agree with vada. Constellations brought their melodies to a new level for me, and Messengers (big trouble in little china) is just raw energy with driving hooks, but this album really brought them into their own for me. The vocals are produced amazingly, the punk influence is more apparent than ever, the melodies and hooks are catchy, the tone is maintained throughout the album, and the breakdowns are more creative. There are a few missteps, the whole PSA, spoken word bit is a touch flow breaking and out of place IMO. Overall, great metalcore release.
I feel like it goes without saying, but the musicians are also clearly at the top of their game here.
