This record gives me such a strange feeling. I feel like I'm completely, intimately familiar with it, as though I've listened to it dozens of times, even though this is only my third time listening to it. It's as though BoC have created a feeling of deja vu within the music itself...

The other weird thing about it is that I don't remember what any of these songs sound like until I go and listen to the album again. Then, it all comes back to me, and I know exactly what's going to come next. It's like some kind of dream world where it doesn't make sense to you unless you're inside of it.

^ one of the most accurate descriptions of BoC, and the effect their music has, that I've had the pleasure of reading

Why thank you. I guess it does apply to all of their music, but to me it's this album in particular that has that effect.

Their other albums feel like actual albums. Collections of tracks. This feels like something else entirely to me... Again, like a dream.

Yeah, I feel. This album almost feels like a faded polaroid of a BoC album. That would annoy the shit out of me, if it was any other band. Considering their shtick and the themes of desolation on this album, it makes perfect sense.
