like who?
|

Like people that are used to normal song structures... It's a gateway album to their more 'difficult to digest' albums
|
| |
improved songwriting is a great gateway to worse songwriting agreed

i see your point tuna, but even though there is more structure, the songs are still long as shit. Not exactly something that most people are used to.
and don't bring up the shorter songs, those are mostly just there to set up the longer ones
|
| |
Em... I totally agree - length is still too much, but the catchy 'poppy' parts are a little longer and allow people to listen that otherwise wouldn't

I'm so fucking bored of this band. After a while it's all just a big blur.

I see what Tuna means, this is indeed a easier album to digest at times, with all the catchy choruses and all. More "musical" if you will. That said, its still mostly hard to grasp for anyone used to 4/4 structures imo
|
| |
To be honest, 4/4 really only means anything if you're purposely trying to count it out... Otherwise most people only pay attention to tempo

Haha yeah, by 4/4 i meant your typical song structure, with regular tempos and verses and all that.

There's a copy of Colours still available at my local HMV for 15 bucks. Should I buy it?

"There's a copy of Colours still available at my local HMV for 15 bucks"
Dude you don't have any other local CD stores? 15 bucks for Colors (unless it's the double album or DVD included) is ridiculous. That's like Best Buy prices.

HMV overprices shit and tries to justify it by slapping 2 for 30 deals on everything

I'm liking this album. The Parallax series overall seems like a good thrill ride, but nothing besides
Specular Reflection sticks out in my mind out of either album. There are just a lot of good ideas
jumbled together, and I've always criticized BTBAM for poor structure and pace.
Whatever happens at 3:15 in Astral Body is an example of the moments where I'm just like really, you
are going to completely change the tone of the song with this little transition? It is annoying to me
at least. And they use that type of transition a lot too.
