@Sonoma I'm pretty sure that James is quoted as saying that, or at least something to that effect

Reload sucks, it's like all the songs that weren't good enough for Load had their own album.

Most of the songs has a length of 3 or 4 minutes approx. Maybe they grew tired or witing long songs...

I liked Fuel back in the day, now it has become very annoying. I'd rather prefer them to play more king nothing than fuel...

Most of the slower and softer songs are the better songs from the Load/Reload duo. The "fast" songs are usually the shittiest ones.

Sorry but, this album sucked this album they changed and, not for the better. Metallica went from a pretty good Thrash/heavy metal band to making this watered down alternative style record trying to catch on that wave. So many better records came out that year and, I have no idea why people even started liking this album all of a sudden to be honest.

It's not terrible, but St. Anger and ReLoad were far better than this. I honestly don't think it's as bad as people say, but it needed some work.

Have you realised that most of the bands in the mid 90's were forced to change their style due to the popularity of grunge?, case and point kiss's carnival of souls is the only album I've listened from them just because I read they were influenced by the seattle scene

Most of the bands considered a suicidal attempt to abandon their origins in favour o alterantive rock or grunge but in some cases they worked pretty well, especially skid row, kiss and to a lesser extent motley crue and megadeth. Haven't heard Anthrax albums of that period when they became an alternative metal band
