I went out with Kate a couple of weeks ago, however I had yet to write about my experience. I was actually not going to do it, I was starting to believe that maybe some people are just meant to be alone. I had been courting this girl and it all seemed to be going well, but turns out it didn't. We went out, first date, and then and there I decided to take courage and stole a kiss from her. She was surprised, to say the least. It could have been worse, but truth is the girl gave me the ice law for one week, and now it's like we're still friends, but you know, there's some degree of awkwardness in the way that we decide better to not talk about what happened that day, and sometimes she feels so free to talk about other guys in my presence. So yep, back in those days when me and Kate went out, this episode with this other girl had recently happened, and so, my mind was somewhere else when we decided to meet at the theather downtown to check out some kind of art dance they were showing.
Back in her day Kate was nice, she looked like a china doll I might say. She had interesting things to say about literature, music, and art as a whole, plus she promised to introduce me to David Gilmour someday. We watched the dance, and I could tell she was really into it, I was only half aware of what was happening on stage, trying to figure out where the dancers' heads laid. After that, we went to have a drink at a nearby bar, and chances were that at the moment, the tv decides to show a Lady Gaga video. "Who's that?" Kate asked. "Oh, it's the big thing in the future", I answered. "And I thought I was crazy original. . ." Bush said, and she didn't say much more for the rest of the evening. I really hope that next time we meet we both have our heads clear. Oh, and I wouldn't mind if it was at Gilmour's house.

It was a month or two ago that I noticed that I seldom heard music made by women. It was at that moment, when I set myself to inject some estrogen into my listening habits, and so, I have hit across numerous artists. My aim of this was to increase the number of female artists I enjoy, and why not? choose the best among them. The first objective, I'll be happy to keep it open for the rest of my life, the latter one, I think I have found her.
Physically, back in the 80s, Bush possesed a particular kind of beauty, she was not smoking hot, but she was every art/nerd guy's fantasy, she looked like a porcelain doll brought from China, and once you heard her sing, hell! once you heard her sing, it would have been easy to fall for her. Another important element of Bush's artist profile, is her unpredictability, and a sense that she just might be a little cuckoo for cuckoopoffs, an element which is still important in today's business (see Lady Gaga).
I still don't know much of her discography other than the Wuthering Heights song and this album, but with Hounds of Love alone, Bush would have consolidated herself as one of the best females artists of the century. This is a wonderful array of songs. The classic opening tune of Running Up That Hill (which was greatly covered by Placebo), an open defiance to God. The Big Sky is just as incredible, and Mother Stands for Comfort is one of the best pieces of music ever, a tale of how an assassin's mother won't accept her child's sins.
