i dont understand how for emma is flawed at all, every song is amazing at doing what it wants to do, theres nothing about the album that I don't enjoy, and even though it's insanely cathartic, it's a beautiful, lonely, bare piece of pure bliss. It's really an amazing record

I hear what people say makes this album and For Emma so amazing, but it just doesn't seem to hit me as hard. If at all, sometimes. I mean, every song on both albums is extremely well-written, and it's all passionate, good, etc. But...it's weird, the songs just don't...hit me the way they seem to hit everyone else. It's not like they don't hit me at all, but they don't put me in the same trance that The National does.
