I think that gorguts has been creeping ahead of death as best DM band for me lately

I dunno, Gorguts might be my favorite DM band but that just comes down to preference.

Death is different from the rest and succeeds.
Gorguts new era tries too hard to be different and fails.

How on earth are my assumptions BASELESS as you say? Why would people want to write music that is so avant garde unless they were purposely attempting to be "new" and "unique"? Seriously you're a fucking twat who gets offended easily and appears to only like stuff with only seven votes from Lithuania or something.

I know I've succeeded because people can't rebuttal with something clever. Sorry, but I guess you guys think I'm a moron because I apply logic into my criticism. Just because someone writes a song that alternates 3/8 7/8 4/4 5/8 15/8 time signatures and invents new scales doesn't instantly make an album good. It needs character, substance, and identity outside of being "TOTALLY UNIQUE BRAH".

chill out man I haven't even heard gorguts but that statement is still silly.. how do you think a subgenre like death metal was even born if not by bands trying to sound different from other bands?

Most bands start something new by accident. Gorguts is clearly trying to forcefully insert "never before seen" ideas in a way that is annoying and shameful.

Next Gorguts will probably use ancient Chinese native influence time signatures and will have a random banjo solo in a few songs because UNIQUE.

That is super wrong in fact genres like grind and death metal were born from bands that wanted to play harder and faster than hc/thrash bands of the time and be more extreme

Perhaps, but those bands wanted to be heavier, they still wanted to go DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH. That, and being WEE-WONK na na na WEE-WONKLALALALADONG are completely different.

i think somesayshesnaive might be schizophrenic or something similar idk...i mean you can look up interviews of the band saying how they got influence for this album and never did they ever mention wanting to even start a new metal movement dude...
