I've added that to my list Trifo. It rings a bell, but I haven't checked it yet so I'll be sure to do so, the 'recommended by reviewer' section is 50/50 stuff I love/am neutral towards - if they are accurate.
I noticed how you haven't rated the Son Lux release I mentioned, trade of recs?... or did you just not rate it for whatever reason?

I'll try that one! I think I remember checking some of his stuff and not really liking it but that's some time ago now. Trade of recs it is!

I'm lukewarm to a couple of his other records, but the atmosphere on that one is dense, the way he plays around with repeating but ever-so slightly altering motifs, helps for an engrossing and ultimately quite emotional listen.
Sounds like a sales pitch akin to a press release now...

Lanterns is the one I checked. The fact that you're lukewarm to some of his works seems promising, because I certainly am to that one!

"..... hip hop was influenced by disco"
You mean soul and funk? House music was influenced by disco.

Hip Hop was influenced by a lot of stuff, including even Dub and Reggae. But yeah, House was way more more influenced by Disco than Hip Hop was.
Bumping that Bowery Electric rec, that Beat album is pretty dope, dude just listen to Fear of Flying.

I'll check it out for sure, sounds interesting

The earliest hip hop sampled disco and funk basslines. But yes, House is closer to it than hip hop.

It's a great album, blending lots of Sput favourite elements into a nice package.

Exactly haha! If that doesn't describe the Sput-masses then I don't know anymore.

Is that a Sput thing now? I thought the user-base mostly listens to metal and indie-folk these days?

Hmm yeah, could be, although gaze is totally popular right now. Gaze this, gaze that, it's everywhere.
