idk that trudging riff like 35 seconds into Styxerian Path sounds a hell of a lot like that one not much further into Christening the Afterbirth. There's definitely a lot of overlap in the doomier sections.

I see the ~similarities~ in the structuring of those riffs but both of them are completely different in tone and in terms of actual chords being played. Incantation and Obliteration just do two completely different things in my eyes.

They're mostly power chords tho? Even the use of pinch harmonics is similar in places. I agree that their tones and overall atmospheres are pretty different but there are definitely much more dissimilar bands than these two.
