The biggest problem I see with Humanz so far is how underdeveloped a lot of the tracks are. Andromeda and the closer benefit by both being quick, enjoyable pop songs, but a lot of the other tracks lack enough interesting elements that made much of their first three albums so rewarding to listen to.

mmhmm. most of what makes gorillaz interesting is how their tracks develop (empire ants, white flag being key examples of this here). seems like albarn tried to substitute interludes for actual songwriting on the new record.

definitely suffers from weak instrumentals, being more of a hip-hop album than any other gorillaz there's no excuse for weak beats
really wish Albarn would hire someone with experience making good beats so he could focus on the songwriting and melodies

the transition from Hallelujah Money to We Got The Power is real bad, especially considering the masterful transition on PB from Superfast Jellyfish to Empire Ants
