Haha I kind of like the video game sound of "It Gets Better." I don't know if it'll last as the sound for an entire song though. "Some Nights" sounds like my favorite so far. I can't believe even "Some Nights Intro" ended up being synthy haha. Still don't know what my reaction to the whole thing will be, but I'm feeling positive.

The beats on 'It Gets Better' are cool though! But I prefer the sounds on the other sings. 'Some Nights' and 'Stars' and ' All Alone' are my favourite so far. =) Great beats.
The Intro song is great too, love how his voice cracks.
I think I like it, oddly because normally I wouldn't like an album similar to it but it's coming together nicely. Maybe it's just Nate's voice.

So you think you'll like it BECAUSE it's fun., eh? Interesting. I bet most people on this site won't like it for that reason, because it'll just be compared to Aim and Ignite. I've accepted that I should look at it as a totally separate work, and I'm loving it. I bet more people would like it if they listened to it as something new instead of a comparison.

Yeah, that's what I mean. To be fair, Nate and the gang did say that Aim & Ignite had some tracks supposed to appear on The Format's third album (one being Benson Hedges) and I think that them coming together, they were trying to please their fans.
It seems now that Some Nights will be the first ground-up fun. album and I think it sounds great. What I meant Jake was that I like Nate's voice so much, I normally like the songs he sings any way. =)

Makes sense. Nate's voice is amazing. That sucks that you can't see them live in Ireland. You should acquire a ridiculous amount of money to blow and go to a show in the States.

I plan to move to Canada any way... only three years. :3
|
| |
They aren't amazing live. Just okay.
|
| |
Couldn't be worse than Modest Mouse.
Only live band I ever saw that I was truly disappointed in seeing.

They're my favorite band I've seen live partly because I'm a fanboy, partly because they're so talented, and largely because their music translates into an entertaining musical act so well.

Seriously. It'll be interesting to see what that means for fun. and Some Nights: Quick and short phase or launching of a whole new level of their career?

i still think the first track is the best

My favourite is Benson Hedges. =)
I hope their career lifts off after the release of Some Nights. It'd be amazing to see them become the next big thing.

Oh my god, the 90 second clips on iTunes have me practically salivating.
|

Haha! I feel your anticipation. =)
It's the ultimate teaser. 'Stars' sounds so good.

"Stars" sounds SO good! I love that moment of "and I've been saying that you..." when it slows down. I hope the fact that there are no live versions on Youtube doesn't mean they'll never play it live. and I can't get over "Why Am I the One." with the tempo difference between verse and chorus, and the greatness of the chorus itself. Argggg. It's nights like these that I wish I had this accurately named album already.
|
| |
All day yesterday I was singing what I knew of the chorus to 'It Gets Better'. I haven't even heard the whole song nor do I know the words.
10 more nights! This is killing me Jake. =(
