So Did We closing section is one of my favorite moments in music from a composition standpoint. Almost nothing touches it in my mind except maybe the Jungleland sax solo from Springsteen (weird comparison but you get the idea). The closing section of Au Pays Natal though is something else entirely and almost nothing has moved me in that way blasting out a stereo that's shaking the whole house

Agalloch - Bloodbirds II
Regarde Les Homes Tomber - Incandescent March
Altar of Plagues - White tomb
Year of No light - Abbesse
Angelic Process - Dying in A Minor
A few other decent ones
Das Tor probably has my favorite crescendos but it's lo fi black metal so it doesn't hit as hard when you're not in the perfect mood with headphones

haven't thought of white tomb in a minute, need to revisit that again.
All of those are great, but the only thing that hits as hard as a rosetta crescendo is another rosetta crescendo for me lol. Lift 3, A Determinism of Morality, Europa...just god tier.

I gotta fucking jam this
|
| |
Wait is this thing actually 2 hours????
Who the hell has that kind of time?
|

They’re meant to be played at the same time, the ambience of the second disc syncs with the metal on the first disc as well as some additional drums parts etc
|
| |
Ok. I know Neurosis did the same shit, but that is like...really fucking stupid and annoying.
I'm not gonna put on two records in the same room, or have two laptops playing two different albums at the same time.
I'm just gonna jam the first disc I guess, holyyyy shit that's irritating lol - why not just give me some homework to do to get the "full experience" as well?

You can find heaps of mixdowns on the net. It’s not that hard to get around (and well worth the effort)

Good luck getting Lucca to use anything other than Spotify lol

I kinda agree the whole "synced double album/companion album" gimmick is kinda lame.

This album came out before Youtube compilations, how the fuck did they expect us to do this then?
Buy two CDs and two stereo systems? Get two pairs of headphones and wear one on top of another? PUT TWO CDS ON TOP OF EACHOTHER!?!?! EXPLAIN, ROSETTA, EXPLAIN
Edit: Ok 2005 isn't the 1990s like I thought, but still

It's an accompanying noise piece written AFTER the stuff on the first disc, don't listen to anybody who says any different. Immense experience but not required in the least.

“Ok 2005 isn't the 1990s like I thought, but still”
2005 isn’t 2025 either, people at this point figured it out and merged them. There’s no excuse.

I had it on CD along with a stereo and a portable boom box so I made it work, it was super cool

Ok this shit is finally hitting today
