I just might break somethin' tonight
I pack a chainsaw
I'll skin your ass raw
And if my day keeps goin' this way
I just might break your fuckin' face tonight!
Give me somethin' to break
Give me somethin' to break
Just give me somethin' to break
How 'bout your fuckin' face?
I hope you know I pack a chainsaw (What?)
A chainsaw (What?)
A motherfuckin' chainsaw (What?)
So come and get it

And walk right in between

Something about fifty-fifty clown reminds me of being 5 years old and getting my hair cut by the Russian hairdresser who had a place on our street. Something about the very 80's sound of the drum loop and the very deliberate mid-pace tempo and the specific way the harmonies work when Liz sings "agaaaaaain, aaaaheaaaad."
It's a really specific vibe, I don't know how else to describe it. This album is special

Props for making the words out.
Was recently re-reading a book I thoroughly enjoyed in my late teens and was happy to catch this reference:
"The music machine played away - far away - and when I started to understand the lyrics of a Cocteau Twins song, I knew I was wrecked."

Hello zak. Been a few years, huh? How's everything going for you?
FYI the book is from 1992 and is written by the late Iain Banks. Liz has been confusing people for decades!

I’m very well grouse mate. Don’t think I’ve ever been so happy tbh so it’s only a matter of time before something horrendous happens as is the way.
What are you upto nowadays?

Glad to hear it.
I'm "properly" back in the UK for the first time in 4 years. I was getting sick and tired of living through the pandemic abroad and I'd hit a bit of a brick wall at my job, so I decided to move back home. On the lookout for the next step, wherever that may be (not on mainland Europe though - Brexit has made it extremely difficult to continue there in my field), at the mo'
Meanwhile it's time to catch up with music released since 2017 - any nice recs for me?
