As you said about OCHL, it just feels like they threw it together, but I also had that opinion on the songs themselves. Take Glint for example: the beginning and middle sections of that song are phenomenal, then the last section comes in and sounds uninspired and deflates the climax of the song as a result.



This has happened on multiple songs they've released since Sunbather (Baby Blue, Luna, Worthless Animal, to name a few) and now they finally release a project that sounds inspired from start to finish. So yeah, if I feel overhyped for LPWP, that's the primary reason.

I guess one could say it sounds thrown together but idk i kinda like the wild out there sprawling compositions where maybe not every idea is a+ but it all comes together in a good package. like for all its "jank" OCHL has had me very emotional in parts. i don't really mind a little bit of weirdness if it comes together in the end and i come away moved as a result

sometimes weird fits can elevate a song for me i guess like i was confused but ended up enjoying that We Love You Moar thing A7X and Pussy Riot did. When conventional ideas are put together in an unconventional way it's really interesting to me I guess that explains the Sleep Token
