Less asleep and more not as involved. Chino had a ton of control on Gore which is why you got songs like Pittura Infamante and (L)Mirl... Both of which are terrible.

The only valid Gore slander is aimed at the production/mastering job. The songwriting is fire.

@Mantis: Well, yeah... one way or another, that record was a major misstep. This feels like a much better statement from the band.

I mean it's a divisive album for sure. I love Acid Hologram and Geometric Headdress, but the other "outside the box" ideas just don't work for me. I like the riff on Pittura Infamante but the melodies are just so clunky. Those issues carried over to Ohms but much less so.

I agree. They went into Ohms with a purpose and it came out well. Too many songs on Gore were almost "radio friendly" and that's just not the 'Tones.

I agree that as a full package this is better. Until a remaster of Gore drops that is...

How did you like the setlist? I feel like they got stuck in their WP-DE-AtF certified hits and it varies very little from tour to tour... I get they don't like to revisit SNW (aka their best album) bud I'd love to hear some more KNY and Ohms tracks when I get the chance to see them again...

Underrated band, wish they had gotten more attention over the years.

"The only valid Gore slander is aimed at the production/mastering job" that's actually fair tbh that production is one of the dryest mixes I have ever heard on a tones album

"I get they don't like to revisit SNW (aka their best album)"

Over the course of my time on Sput, I've looked into this... canvassed once or twice, and concluded that this is an agreed-upon opinion wholly contained within the confines of this site.
