I don’t really see how Koi is not just an extension of this? I agree that it’s much better, I do love this record obv but Koi is an all timer for me, but same producer, plenty of songs on that record would’ve felt at home here. Diamond Eyes and Koi are very much basically sister albums imo… also it’s the shortest gap they’ve ever had between records.
To me that says they knew they were on a hot streak and decided to capitalize on it.
