I feel that a little bit. I like the band but it seems like every deftones album has always been a mixed bag for me. there's always a handful of songs I love and a handful of songs I skip. SNW was always the most consistent for me.

Keaton, it took me years to appreciate them. I had a fling with a girl in college who was obsessed with Deftones but I struggled getting into them even as a means of impressing a girl so I could get laid (never did).

It wasn't until Gore that it clicked for me. Which is wild considering Gore is on the weaker end of their discography. But it made me go back and reevaluate. Maybe one day a Deftones song will seep its way in and it'll click for you. I admit that they can be scattershot with quality. Like, I don't care about Ohm at all but I also hold that Gore is really under appreciated. Hot take but there ya go.

But I think that says more about the band, with how scattershot fans opinions are on every single album they’ve put out. One of the few rock/metal bands that I think has something for everyone. If you hate one album I’d say there’s a decent chance that there might be another you’ll go crazy for.

this album is wonderful. im glad they did an album of simpler and easier songs.

i know chino's ass was probably rolling his eyes while recording this one but it came out really well. much better than that bullshit self titled.
