I can see how people think the music is like Metallica's but not the singing. I can see the similarity other people talk about but I don't think its as drastic as people make it out to be.

before i heard this album all i've heard from trivium is pull harder on the strings. the song wasnt too bad. good music, okay vocals.
my friend said that they sounded like metallica but i didnt think so... seeing that they were metalcore.....
until i heard this album. like the review says... when i listen to it i sometimes catch myself imagining hetfield actually singing the parts....

wow your review for the crusade is the complete opposite. the crusade is a great album that pays homage to the great thrash bands from the 80's. The only reason people do not like this album is because Matt Heafy(vocalist) stopped his retarted metalcore scream. This album is going to pave the way for new thrash metal.

Wow.. that was the worst review i've read in a long time.. I mean comon Trivium kickass.. No one can play instruments like them, No one can do anything like them really. .. At first when started listening to The Crusade i thought "god this isn't as good as the last two albums" But then i started listening to it more and more and realised that it is an awesome album. Now i think it's definitely as good as the other two albums. So in my mind there is not a band out there that sounds or plays like Trivium. They are my favourites. That review was crap by the way !

Although you have some good points, their cover of "Master of Puppets" was awful, this album is pretty good. i like pretty much all the songs except for Anthem. Ascendancy is still my favorite trivium album though.

Finally a bunch of new kids can make songs worth being in an 80's CD - CHECK
This is IMO the best trivium album mainly due to vocals (they were horrible before this) and the songs are really GOOD. I've listened this album for longer than any Metallica album so again, IMO this is a very good album!
Why can't a band sound like an 80's band as long as the songs are good? For Christs sake, someone mentioned the big 4 of Thrash... Metallica haven't been Thrash for AGES and my Beloved Megadeth got lost for 10 years untill 2004 so if someone needs to come and get on Metallica's place, then let it be a Metallica like band!
If you don't like this album then either you don't like Thrash as a whole or you just like to hate new old things because your clock's battery went dead in 1989!

There are many guitarists/vocalist/drummers/bassists that outshine these Amateurs. the only problem is that you have to look on the right place. Try Rush for example for outstanding musicianship in the four instruments I just told.
