the thing with hair metal is it's a very limited sound, not as much room for evolution... look at a band like the last vegas, how much have they evolved from the 80s era glam sound? not a damn bit. i'm giving steel panther a pass because they're very clearly a parody of 80s era, but i mean the modern Glam Metal bands haven't done anything to progress from the old sound.
this band could benefit greatly from some more esoteric source material to take influence from but the labels obviously want them to stay with the surface-level takes on these styles

Vessel can sing. He can hit the notes. He just has an annoying timbre, that I'm amazed I had the patience for given how much he does shit that I usually criticize. Dude even sounds like he pitch-shifted his vocals down on some songs here... or he put-on an extra-deep tone that sounds like it was shifted down.

only if someone with a better timbre filtered their vocals through the darth vader fortnite ai, that's kinda the entire point of AI voice filters you still have to be a good singer to make it work

Id find them a lot less annoying if they were just some other Djent adjacent band and didnt have all of the imagery. But then again thats why they are successful so all props to them. Probably wont even listen to this.

ya i already said this elsewhere but i'll take this #1 on Billboard any day over morgan "i said the n word and immediately my career took off because country fans aren't even trying to hide their racism anymore" wallen. obvs not ideal but i'm kinda happy rock/heavier music is mounting a comeback in the mainstream.
