last time i saw Coheed, they had Touche Amore and Thrice opening
and the time before that was mwY and La Dispute
if anything, their standards are slipping with foxing :[

I went to a Coheed album not long back and Glassjaw opened.
I wanna go for Coheed and Foxing, but really doing wanna be subjected to TBS again... I have seen them like 10 times and they keep degrading.

dog idk how anyone can complain about any foxing vocals and then listen to coheed with no problem

find me a single Coheed song as intolerably off-key as Looks Like Nothing, and I'll be waiting with a fridge full of beers
don't expect to be able to stand by the time I get your answer

grab em for me they’re just a dime store mars volta
|

dime store is a heavy term to invoke in a thread for the three thousandth nicotine patch sputnik has slapped on to break its Brand New dependency

"last time i saw Coheed, they had Touche Amore and Thrice opening"
That was the Thrice / Coheed co-headline tour in Europe? The night I saw them Thrice played last (and I was so very jetlagged). I was never able to get into Coheed sadly, and seeing Touché first and Thrice after only made that so much more obvious...
But it looked like most of the crowd were there for Coheed...
|
| |
yes! although the crowd emphasis was on Coheed at the London show I caught too, and Thrice playing second gave them more of a headliner feel. enjoyed their set (mainly for how much more tolerable the Vaxis 2 garbo tracks were in front of a crowd of sympathetic listeners), but was mainly there for Thrice with my mate for nostalgia purposes — we got our due and having forgotten that they were playing Illusion tracks for that alb's anni I had a great surprise - never thought I'd hear Where Idols Once Stood live!! - but in the middle of that sandwich there was only so much roof to be raised
choice Thrice setlist though, even without factoring in the Illusion picks, and I imagine it was the same across the tour

I rly don’t know what people hear in Looks Like Nothing. As far as their heavier tracks go it does nothing for me. They have better screams elsewhere and the buildup to it is just boring. I felt the same way about that Brand New song everyone loved from Devil And God, I think it’s called Luna. Also has this slow build, huge explosion. I wouldn’t even care so much about LLN if I didn’t see people hyping it up as the best track here or one of the best. Bottom 4 imo

yeah looks like nothing is nothing special

I have really not returned to this, the falsetto just destroys my ears

Still think Looks Like Nothing is fire but I think it’s really helped by the sequencing, like you have this long buildup, the shouty parts, a little bit of comedown then it fires right into Gratitude.
Still think Kentucky McD - Looks Like Nothing - Gratitude is one of the best stretches of tracks all last year.

I also really enjoy Looks Like Nothing. Yeah it's off key, but that applies to like half the bands I listen to.

Yeah, Looks Like Nothing is good, but Kentucky i eventually found myself skipping but i would say i like it for the most part

I think Kentucky McDonald’s straight up blows ass. Same with Dead Internet, Dead Cat, Cry Baby, and Cleaning. Greyhound, Frozen Heads, Gratitude, and Barking are the clear standouts imo, with Secret History and Hell 99 also being pretty solid

dead internet is great. most of the harder stuff here isnt really on the better end for me but that song is pretty cool
|
| |
yep, Dead Internet can tag in for Hell 99, and then that take is the one

Kentucky McD is a skip for me as well, interesting to see the hugely variant opinions on the middle of this album in general. Dead Internet is top 5 on the album tho lol
