'All the while these same people praise their favorite hip hop artist'

I want to know who these people you speak of are, hip-hop & post-hardcore aren't exactly synonymous with each other.

Clearly you didnt read the post im comparing the lyrics.

If you dont think hip hop has been objectifying women and gotten away with it seemlessly since its creation youre smoking crack. People can think this album is trash idc but the misogynist gripe is retarded

I read Mort's original comment, just not sure why you're comparing this to hip-hop. Sure, some people like misogynistic hip-hop (not all of it is), but are they the same people berating stuff like this for precisely that reason?

It could be any genre really im just using hip hop as it is the genre i am most familiar with. Many great artists choose to employ insensitive themes into their works and seemingly get a pass from most people. Ive always had trouble understanding where this album crosses the line. I know its rough and not particularly well polished. But id think the "misogynistic" lyrics would be the last worry of any of the hardend music goers on this site.

I don't see the whole misogyny thing, this whole album is written more or less about daryls crohns disease

It's always so easy to forget how atmospheric and melodic this album is, amidst the more covered brutal heaviness. There's so much post-rock trickery in here, such a treat to go back and jam their (tiny) discog - this album's brutal, but beautiful. Can't wait for Friday
