ok, the "back to melodeath" thing is mostly a 2-song tease still, but at least there's some quality guitar work on this. a return to being guitar-driven is a good sign for this band, though I wouldn't expect anything better than this from them unless they seriously change directions

IMO this sounds nothing like early IF, or middle to recent era IF, it's more akin to Trivium/KSE-esque metalcore. I don't think it even qualifies as MDM. I understand if IF fans don't like this change, but IMO they have executed this sound perfectly here. Every track a banger, engaging all the way through. I adore this record. The production is just *perfection* according to my tastes as well.
