They already have Slave, Choke, Thieves, Monument & Your Own Knife to pull from their pool of short, heavy songs in their set. If anything "Soil II" would be an insanely cool change of pace live.
On that note I'm finally seeing them tomorrow in Stockholm after NINE fucking years of waiting. Catch me weeping and windmilling.

Been jamming Prophets a lot lately actually. Kinda forgot how fun it is. But the lyrical themes are so different from their discog it's kinda funny.

Late teens and early twenties are rough for a lot of people it seems. Going through lots of changes and learning how to be an adult, it makes sense why so many people develop anxiety or depression around those years.

^ Yeah pretty much. As a 27-year-old now I couldn't fathom the idea of being a teenager again, it fucking blew dog ass being on the cusp of being an adult and not knowing anything about real-world responsibility. Unfortunately, it seems like Brendan's mental state has either deteriorated or simply not improved over the course of his career as a lot of the lyrics here demonstrate.

This album is like opening up Brendan's mind and looking at the absolute bleak desperation of a depressed man trying to get by day by day, what an absolute masterpiece this is, not sure they will ever outdo this one.

With no disrespect to people who enjoyed this album, but I do not hear what others are hearing in this band. Sounds like your typical, emotional metalcore release, formulaic to the point where I could predict where each breakdown was going to be, the general gist of what the vocalist was going to say, etc. Someone please help me get it.

I mean, have you listened to the new Boundaries release?

New Boundaries is cool, but Counterparts discog shits on anything they've ever released.
Also, where you been Walrus? Feel like I haven't seen you around in a long ass time.

I've been here, just kinda silent on site. Started working at a new school and so it's been a pain trying to build a curriculum from scratch. I wish I had more time to write reviews (any reviews, for that matter) and stuff, but I suppose I gotta take care of that which earns me money first haha.
