I just like how not seriously these guys take themselves, despite being stupidly talented. They seem quite humble and almost weirded out about how much people like them.

That’s a huge green flag. Tbh I feel that way about most metal bands, if they take themselves super seriously they better be among the best bands of all time… and even then plenty of people in that tier recognize how corny it is for grown ass men to shred while screaming about satan/space/whatever dumb thing your band is based around.

I'm addicted to this band and the singles of the upcoming album all rule incredibly hard.

They are Canadians, after all. Something to be said about their laid back approach. The guitarist, Dean Lamb, also has a fun YT channel that's pretty much all positive vibes.

are they also polite / well-mannered?
I did re-check RM (as promised) but might not bother with this one tbh, cos I'm pretty sure this band just ain't for me. Something off-putting about the way they combine mechanical blasts and melodic noodles in a way which doesn't mesh (it's especially odd when they try to slow things down in an almost 'atmospheric' way). I'm not saying they're not skilled musicians, it's rather the combination of sounds is quite frankly irritating, lol. A distinctively off-putting combo all-round really.

they're awesome and they know what they are, that's why they put out short af records. For me any techy band with 1 hour of music is annoying per se. They're fun and uncompromising and don't take what they do too seriously. Also they're talented af

[2] on length, most metal albums shouldn't be over 35-40 min but especially tech death and these guys keeping things tight at 30 min is a huge draw. also they just know how to write memorable catchy shit relentless mutation & onward. biggest reason for their glow up imo
