Yep don't rly get the hype. Well I kind of do because a lot of not great shit is really popular but to me this is like the purest form of mid band. Lawful mid.
There's clearly talent here, girl can sing good and scrim decent, everyone can clearly play, the production is tight. The writing is the most bland fucking boring ass recycled radio heavy metal with a slight dj0nt edge doodoo I've heard 70,000 times by this point. Courtney's Work in IWABO was 100x more interesting and how long ago was that shit? Idk man there's just nothing here that wows me whatsoever, it all just kind of is. There's some catchy shit I can bob my head to, they'd probably be fun to see live, but this album genuinely bored the shit out of me and was burned out after like 3 listens. I'd be curious enough to listen to what they do on the next one but my expectations are low, kind of on board with Papa Roach being the right fit.

Yeah this band has a pretty clear shtick at this point which is radio pop-flavored alt-metal followed by an obligatory big screams and djuns break of some sort. They just twiddle the knobs on which of those two sounds gets more attention on any given song
