“That’s because it’s been leaking for a week or so, right? It had a substantial amount of votes even before release.“

Nah, the album got wiped before it’s release. So all the votes are pree much in a couple of days

Hang on did anyone say Choc Chip was brilliant? It certainly wasn’t me - although it is kind of cool.

Oh really, but the user’s votes that got wiped probably ‘re-voted’ afterwards anyway. Speculating of course.

My pom walked out of the room after Pneuma. He did come back upon hearing Windowpane.

Yep this is a massive album and massive grower like everything Tool made. 13 years was a crazy long wait, but it was all worth it.

Most of the album is boring but 7empest, Chocolate Chip Trip, and Invincible are pretty good. Most of the songs are padded out with excessive filler but I guess that's what makes it "atmospheric".

Some maniac did, yeah. Those are the types of people we're dealing with here haha.

Boggles the mind that people think this is a 5.

As a rock/metal album, it's incredibly weak.

As a Tool album, it's obviously worse than everything else they've released, bar maybe 10,000 Days.

As a prog album, it's actually very basic and undercooked.

As a post-rock/post-metal album, it's completely overshadowed by countless better bands and albums.

Still quite good though!

I had few expectations but I'm really loving this album. Tool at their most psychedelic. Only tune I'm having problems with is "Culling Voices". And "7empest" is the shit!

Definitely hear a lot of Frame by Frame in 7empest. This whole album sounds heavily influenced by Discipline. Then again, King Crimson influenced a lot of Tool's sound in general.
