This is going to be controversial comment but even though Periphery is a prog metal band I think they deserve a spot in mainstream rock/metal and the ballads and other songs of the like are the keys to doing that

There's a thing called the 'crab mentality' where I think Periphery are severely trapped in tbh

Nah they aren’t trapped in anything. Misha’s initial vision for periphery was groove metal with super accessible pop vocals and hooks, if nothing else you gotta give him credit for sticking with his vision. I just hate the product lmao

btw crab mentality in metal/rock is the reason why this music completely disappeared from any mainstream media

Regardless of that, I think Periphery have the potential to be as big as Avenged Sevenfold, I mean, their vocalist is already 10x better than A7X vocalist so they have that going for them, KEK, and honestly, I think Misha sees the potential of the band but doesn't go through with it, making music you like and not wanting to be big off of it is quite frankly asinine in itself, but this is just my opinion

THere's a couple of things though to keep in mind though. Misha and crew are probably pretty happy with where they are. A comfortable lifestyle making music they want to make without pressure from a label or fairweather mainstream fans. Regular fans are happy cos they can still go see Periphery play in a mid-size amphitheater for $20-25. Everyone's happy.

Sometimes mainstream aspirations can kill a band, like it did Shadows Fall (RIP).

I feel you re not reaching me wondersf. I like soft music but these ones are pretty lame bad. Talented band in a tired subgenre in metalcore.

50% talking about the album. 30% "band sux lol". 20% complaining about "band sux lol". Not bad by periphery thread standards.

I'm happy to have contributed most of that 20%.

My comments are well-thought out but the comments themselves are gay

I just dont see the justification in giving this the same score as images and words for example.
