The bare minimum of knowing wtf you're talking is just appreciated. You're not a grind fan, so you don't know the history of it. Nor do you appreciate the variety of ways it can be presented or the depth that certain bands can bring to the table. It's like your knowledge of these things is arbitrary, so it makes your opinion on these things feel arbitrary. I never claimed that grind wasn't more of a hardcore/punk subgenre, it totally is. That being said, it has no bearing on the quality of the music.

Brash doesn't mean extreme, it means brash. There are a lot of ways to be brash. And it's been said about everything under the sun from jazz to rock to punk to rap to etc by whatever closed minded tightass of the week.

Smok’s got their own way of looking at music. I don’t subscribe to the same views, and I’m glad. If they want to go that route, they can. I don’t think they’re going to find many like-minds, though.
