Arcade Fire were really good when I saw them support 'Neon Bible'.
You're going to love that Sturgill show - first time seeing him live?

Hell yeah butch
Doof I've seen both Arcade Fire (Reflektor tour) and Sturgill before (though Sturgill was only a festival set). Admittedly I'm a bit worried about AF though but I'm trying to stay optimistic.

I nearly saw Steel Panther, but the tent they were playing at Download was swamped...so I wandered off on my own and left the rest of the crew to it, got drunk and laughed at Dragonforce on the main stage instead.
Less post irony, more innocent lols

Zak how you feeling on this?

It's a typical National album for me Boney dude, there's something sublime waiting to be unearthed. I haven't invested much time in at all though to be honest.
A year after High Violet I was desperate for a new album, I absolutely loved the band and TWFM was worth the wait.
I can say with hand on heart I prefer tindersticks nowadays.

Do you prefer new Tindersticks though? Last two albums were really good to be fair.
Not current National level though.

The full test of this album will be when I spend some time away from it and then revisit it

Ello doof you watching the game?
First four tindersticks have sounded the death knell for 70% of me albums. Unrivalled.

Ok Zak Ill bite. I'm going to jam the first Tindersticks album and if I don't like it I'm going to come to your flat and smash your telly and bum a fag and take a spotted dick and smash a soccer hooligan in the face with it in the face while I enjoy a pint at the pub and yell cracking at toothless waitresses.
Just kidding bro. First song in, its solid.

I don't have BT Sport so no, just keeping up with the score and reading the pensioner-aged Spurs fans argue about it on TheBoyHotspur blog. Might try and watch a Champions League game at Wembley, dunno if Real Madrid will sell out :/
First three Tindersticks for me. Then the next three and the most recent two are on about the same level.
That live album is a classic too.

Prefer the debut...Jism, Blood (aka The National blueprint), City Sickness, Marbles, Patchwork, Whiskey & Water, The Not Knowing, Her...bit more poncey, bit more indie, bit more varied
Tindersticks II is the most Tindersticks-y though, ballad central. Both are 5s.

Tindersticks 1st is one the best albums of the 90's, and one of the best of all time to me.. agreed that the Second is all beauty, but the First has as much oomph as it does poetry.. can't beat that..
