"like he thinks he's some kind of legend lmao"
That's because he is a legend
He's married and finally happy, probably why he's acting like a mega pop star now

The idea that happy people make pop music is kinda funny lol. Not sure that it's true tho

Used to like this guy until I realized hes an insufferable dork

Just for context: I'm a virgin with an anime body pillow and even I think this guy is an insufferable dork

When "To the Bone" first came out I didn't have a strong interest in checking it out. Once it did it became one of my favorite albums of the year. That being said... none of the singles of his next project do anything for me.

lmao Underflow
I was tipped off that SW might be an insufferable dork years ago when I learned of his iPod smashing shenanigans from around 2008.
I like that he changes things up throughout his career, love this album, and would call him a genius in the instrumental songwriting department.
Having said all that, these new singles are all over the place in terms of resonating with me. The Future Bites is shaping up to be his weakest release yet and very electronic/synth pop oriented like Love You to Bits was. I'm of course going in with an open mind though and am ready to love it like everything else he's done.

I agree with Talons and the rest here I guess. Not especialliy looking forward to this release. I guess after a few very good albums it's time for some less stellar material. Maybe it will resonate with a different crowd. Maybe it will transform into something else when played live. Maybe there are more "traditional" SW songs on the album besides these poppy, electronic tracks (remember Permanating was the single of TtB).

Here’s the problem with the new album. Steven already blew his load with a fucking 10-minute single, which comprises roughly a quarter of the album. That’s already 1/4 of the album that I and a lot of others don’t like, and I haven’t been too wild about any of the other singles either. So basically, no matter what the rest of the album contains, I don’t feel like I can give the new album anything higher than a 3/5. SW already revealed too much of the album, and too much of it as already unappealing

To be fair, as much of a fan as I am, he’s been putting out cringe with PT long before this point. Like in Fear of a Blank Planet where he’s criticizing technology and millennial teens by saying “Xbox is a god to me”

Or with Stupid Dream, which itself is a shallow critique of the music industry

It doesn't matter tho because Stupid Dream is their 3rd best album after IA and TSMS.

Yeah, I still enjoy Stupid Dream a lot too, honestly. The compositions and atmosphere really pull that one through for me, even if I’m not a big fan of the lyrics. Plus, I like the alt rock and Britpop influences

Not sure what to make of the new album. It’s very different, even from this.

Being a departure is a welcome thing tbh, but stuff like Eminent Sleaze doesn't fit him imo. Steven isn't a singing talent like Prince

He does that a lot on the new one, much less focus on instrumentals which is his strength, and more on his singing and lyrics, the weakest part of PT and solo career.

I bet 20$ bucks on this. I can tell he's a scorpio with 90% accuracy just by watching him talk in interviews. Jesus Christ lmao, how can scorpios live with themselves? They wear their arrogance so proudly.
PS: If not a scorpio, definitely a hysterical libra.
To prove I don't hate him blindly, I'll admit I enjoy his faux-emo album Deadwing.
