Which is funny because Alien was the 2nd song released before the album lol. Agreed though, this needs to be experienced all at once.

Never thought at the start of 2017 that a Manc Orchestra album would end up as my AOTY

Its been a year of broadening musical horizons for me this year. I didn't even know who Manchester Orchestra were at the start of the year. Hell, more than half of the bands on my aoty list hadnt crossed my path until this year.

Still struggling to like this one. I'm a huge MO fan, but the songs on this one just seemed so sleepy and similar that nothing stood out to me.

This album reminds me a lot of Simple Math, but it's like the hyperbolic traits of that record have been toned down and smoothed out. The flow here is impeccable.

Yeah I think this might be their best record. I liked only bits and pieces of simple math, but this is solid ftb

I think Simple Math (the song) is better than any individual song here (Grocery and Silence come close)

but this album is way more consistent and I'd say better overall

Simple Math and METN swap around for me pretty regularly, but both are 4's for me. I can't even listen to Cope aside from 2-3 songs- it's terrible. This one is at least inoffensive.

Lead, SD brings the hardest feels

Still, Colly Strings and Hot One are the all-time feelers for this band
