It is what it is. Its a distilled version of Neurosis. Theyre in there 50s now.
The intro to bending light is the only thing I dont like about it.

Yep, it's Neurosis, their sound scratches a specific itch for me. And if it's performed well - which is basically always the case - chances are next to nil I'm ever gonna dislike it.

Hey they had 7 near flawless albums in a row and theyre much older now. I dont expect them to reinvent the wheel anymore. And honestly a lot of older bands that try to reinvent themselves late in their career fail badly(cough cough Opeth).

Reach is on of the best songs they've made since the classic years. Seeing it live the other night solidified that thought in my mind.
|
| |
Nah its setlist padding
I'm disappointed that they keep making half their set songs from this and honor found

bruh you had your time to see them in their peak but I guess you were just BORN TOO LATE
|
| |
Indeed
They could you know, also tour for the new stuff than omit it from the setlist in future tours if it sucks

New songs kill live though. The boost in tempo compared to older material hits pretty hard.

Lmao hell no dude, word as law is infinitely better than the most recent two, ESPECIALLY honor found in decay
The two songs they played from it were trash. Bending light is also trash. Rest of set was HEAT

Nah man. The Well climaxes with the triple vocals at the end. It rules hard.

Not compared to like 70 other neurosis songs but ok!

I really liked hearing Reach live. I did wish they would have played some Souls at Zero or Enemies material. I've only gotten into these guys in the past few years, so idk how uncommon it is for them to play their old stuff. I would have thought a reissue of their first two would incite some exploration in those ones.
Regardless, great show, no flashy stuff, just a fantastic performance.

I would literally kill a squirrel for them to play stuff from eye
