@park: Was considering keeping it at a 4.5 because of the first two tracks, but yeah the biggest difference is this band doesn't really bore me much while Meshuggah does.

I never said Meshuggah sucked btw, just that I personally didn't enjoy a lot of their stuff when i tried their discog.

"I feel like Misha is absolutely "over" heavy or technical music."
I have no idea what videos you've been watching, but in each one the band looks like they're having a blast. And there's literally a video where Misha is talking about how heavy and angry some of the songs are, so again.... calling bullshit.

That's not too bad tbh. Let's hope the songwriting is good

Hard to tell from that short clip, but it sounds good

Crazy, how did I miss that clip? :D
Okay, some hope restored. Also don't get me wrong, a lot of my favorite songs of theirs are on the melodic side, but I really want them to lean towards the Sikth / Meshuggah side of their influences and not become a Tesseract 2. The spacey sounding clips reminded me of Tesseract a whole lot. Also when I talked to Misha about Sikth especially and whether the new Sikth album has an influence on P4 Misha basically said that they now can leave the riffing & heavyness to Sikth since they're the original masters at it and that there won't be a song with a riff like Riddles Of Humanity.

Man, after reading Ash (the head of Sumerian)'s interview on why Periphery left I can say I'm so glad they did.

I just hope there's more tracks like Absolomb and Lune on PIV. Holy FUCK the feels on those tracks.

The old Absolomb demo is superior imo

The demo rules, but there's something about Spencer's emotive delivery that brings the full song over the top for me. It's dummie good.

OH, Juggernaut was the catalyst for making double albums on Sumerian, that must have been the beta test where they released both albums on the same day, and then they did it full on with Automata with BTBAM and now Born of Osiris, this model is getting under my skin now, calling it, next Veil of Maya project is a double album

I waited three years to listen to this because I hated Alpha and Omega and I figured the band was dead and this would be shit. It turns out that I'm actually quite enjoying this. It's not better than P1 or P2, but it's still good.

@Jay yeah I actually saw Misha tweet yesterday that he just listened to the final mastered version for the first time through. So....any day now, one would hope.
