5's aren't albums with no skipping tracks - theres only one album I consider has five songs of 5/5 quality and that's Infected by The The. The rest of my 5's have three or four 5/5 tracks.
The rating I give an album isn't the average score of the songs on it or anything like that. It's the overall effect and the good songs usually have more of an impact than the average or bad songs.

Agreed. No album is perfect.

I have several: Kid A, Sunbather, Bloom, The Everglow, The Mantle, and I Was Searching and I Found, and yes this too. Others too but those are just from my mind
Those are albums I would list as "perfect" or "flawless"

Boxer by The National has only one song I'd rate below 4.5 but other than that what doof said.

I think The Everglow is one of the few albums where I'd rate every track a 5. But I think y'all are taking what I said dramatically. A 5/5 is one I can listen to and enjoy from start to finish. Ever track doesn't necessarily need to be a 5 but the overall feeling does. But I just said Fitter Happier keeps OKC from being a 5 smh. No one says "oooh! Fitter Happier!" But same can be said about "Treefingers" but to me the creepy ambiance of Treefingers felt more like a track than Fitter Happier. You could cut Fitter Happier out and it be the same album. Treefingers just has this ominous feeling to it to where you know what's gonna happen but you're just gonna calmly wait it out anyway

I don't have any album where every track is a 5, but I still have a number of albums I consider perfect. For the most part my 5s have tracks ranging from 4-5/5 individually, but I can think of a handful that have a 3.5 or two thrown in the mix. No 3s, though, I don't think.

Kid A is a 5 with a 2-worthy song on it, for me

There are only two albums where I think every track is a 5: OKC, and The Weakerthans' Left and Leaving

In Rainbows would be perfect without House of Cards and maybe less repitition on Videotape

videotape is actually a 5 song
|
| |
Videotape is close to a 5 but there's legit like 30 seconds that don't feel needed on the song.

Videotape is perfect the way it is

Meh. It's like...the 8th best song on the album but I'd say all those 8 are perfect.

House Of Cards is one of my faves. It just takes me somewhere that's really hard to explain.
|
| |
What the f**k Magician? That is one of their best songs. It's perfect.
Meh, House of Cards is the worst song on that album imo. But it has nice guitar work.
