My fav Wilson album is probably this one, followed by Insurgentes and TtB. As far as PT goes, those are The Sky Moves Sideways and Signify for me. Later on the band lost a bit of its magic IMO.

I’m liking this a heckuva lot more than what came before it, but it’s pretty heavy on the Yes/Camel worship, not getting a lot of SW’s voice here

My Porcupine Tree discovery period from 2008-2013 was a very conflicting time.
I thought the following.
1. I must be getting old
2. I know I would’ve thought this was shit when it came out
3. It’s bloody great
4. Why wasn’t this well known back in the day?
5. Halo is the bollocks.
6. Christ this is soulless as fuck.
7. Jesus, the bloke hasn’t done a bad album.

Some of the prog sections are fun
Otherwise this album sounds like a revolving door of pastiche with no rhyme or reason, despite how intentionally the album is track listed and laid out. Dude can’t decide if he wants to be Jethro Tull, Yes, Opeth, Radiohead or himself
