It’s probably not actually a 1 guys, I just get off on having a strongly negative opinion of things since it doesn’t happen very often.

What it means is you need to listen to more bad shoegaze. you've been spoiled with the good stuff for too long 😠

Last three songs are pretty avant-garde tbh and I totally get someone not digging them, but the first two songs are amazing and the middle three are really nice too. I always dug how diverse this was, and am looking forward to their new one this year.

Boney has bad taste in folk, country and shoegaze?

What a time to be alive.

Talons I was kidding about it being avant-garde lol

Fripp at some point one has to ask the question of whether I just have bad taste overall

I wouldn't even say those closing three are too avant-garde. It sounds like they're coming undone at the seams, which isn't a bad thing, but I don't feel like the are complete thoughts. Having them at the end makes it that much more apparent.

That being said, I love this [whole] album.

Yeah that exactly how I feel, a lot of these tracks feel underdeveloped but it was particularly apparent on those last three.

I don't think it's that off base to call the last three songs avant-garde, at least in the context of a moderately popular 90s rock band; they're pretty repetitive and challenging. I just remember being very surprised at the direction this took starting with Is This and Yes.

This is definitely a riskier and more experimental comeback album than the new Slowdive, but I slightly prefer that to this.

Agreed JustJoe, they are interesting to say the least.

I definitely enjoy the first two songs and middle three on here the most.

She Found Now was the most enjoyable track here but it also drags on way too long. It just feels like Sometimes-lite.

She Found Now is definitely one of the best modern shoegaze songs. In Another Way and Wonder 2 aren't underdeveloped, there's a lot going on in those tracks.

Fair points, Talon. Context is everything, this was a comeback album for a band that honestly never really "left", so to speak. I really dug the jungle-type influence & wish it was more apparent throughout.
