yes it's nice to have both.....i do like the dynamics of the Terry Brown mix but I've been listening to the 'normal' mix for 35 years......it didn't need a remix because the album sounded good but its cool that we have both

I am ambivalent about the new mix. I like some aspects of it, but the cold, sort of icy vibe has been quashed somewhat. A couple of the songs are a marked improvement, but overall...not so sure. The synths were too up front on a couple tracks, but the guy has tried to totally bury them in places, which was the wrong call for this record.

Ugh, I think some of the remastered tracks replaced the original ones on spotify. Even though it shows both as separate, shows I have the same likes for the remastered version, and everything that has a music video sounds different. Kind of pissed at that ngl.

Yeah fellas. Some folks are losing sight that this was the mid 80’s and that these songs are synth driven and was a sign of the times. I personally love the synth era of Rush and lowering them down in the mix and making these songs more power trio-ish doesn’t equal success for me.

I love the remaster that was recently released. But on multiple listens of the terry brown mix… I don’t love it. It’s different. But it’s very bass heavy and misses the shine needed for this record. The original mix remastered here sounds incredible.

Honestly like both mixes but the original mix has more actual "identity" for lack of a better descriptor. It perfectly matches the vibe and times of the album in a good way. Afterimage and The Body Electric being the biggest vibe changes imo. That cold feel really makes those two tracks hit in the haunting way intended.

agree with what you guys are saying, new mix is great but i've always liked the 'cold' feel that gave the whole thing an edge that fit a lot of the songs, wish he'd remix Presto though, that thing sounds like it was recorded in a toilet cubicle

Mena! Yes! Presto and Roll The Bones can both use more low end emphasis. Not Nick R. low. But both albums would benefit with even a hint of balls.
